The ECHOS SANTE Media Group has announced the 2nd edition of the African Health Leadership Prize (PALSA), a prestigious event dedicated to recognizing and honoring the exceptional contributions of healthcare stakeholders across Africa.
This year’s PALSA event, set to be more grand and inclusive than ever, will see the participation of 30 African countries. The event will be hosted in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from November 27 to 29, 2024, highlighting significant progress and remarkable achievements in healthcare across the continent.
A key feature of the event will be a high-level Scientific Congress, themed “Mother and Child Health in Africa: Status and Perspectives,” scheduled for November 27-28, 2024, at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé I. This congress will gather healthcare experts and professionals from across Africa to share knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in mother and child health.
A booklet of abstracts showcasing the most recent research will be distributed to participants. Additionally, the congress exhibition is anticipated to draw over 10,000 participants and visitors, providing a unique platform for healthcare businesses to connect and gain exposure.
The PALSA gala dinner, set for November 29, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé, will be a prestigious gathering of more than 500 distinguished guests, including political and administrative leaders, business executives, healthcare professionals, and representatives from NGOs and associations.
Over 70 laureates will be honored for their dedication and invaluable contributions to improving healthcare in Africa. This exclusive event will be broadcast live on national television channels with international reach, amplifying the celebration of excellence in African healthcare.
The African Health Leadership Prize serves as an international platform with the noble mission of recognizing and celebrating the exceptional work of healthcare stakeholders across Africa. The Scientific Committee of the Prize, comprising eminent Rectors, Deans of Medical Faculties, and Presidents of Healthcare Professional Orders from 18 African countries, ensures the integrity and credibility of the laureate selection process.
The inaugural edition of PALSA, held on November 16, 2023, was a resounding success with the participation of 20 African countries. Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, over 70 personalities and organizations were honored for their outstanding contributions to healthcare. Distinguished figures included Mrs. Chantal Biya, the First Lady of Cameroon, and Dr. Matshidiso Moeti Rebecca, WHO Regional Director for Africa.
